Whether you’re enjoying them with a glass of milk or as a treat for family gatherings, these cookies are sure to be a hit!

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 24 cookies 1x

Ingredients

Scale

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour,

1/2 teaspoon baking soda,

1/2 teaspoon salt,

1 cup unsalted butter (at room temperature),

3/4 cup granulated sugar,

3/4 cup packed light brown sugar,

2 large eggs,

2 teaspoons vanilla extract,

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy and smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are still soft.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra chewy texture, don’t overbake the cookies.

You can substitute the chocolate chips with other mix-ins, such as nuts, M&Ms, or raisins, if desired.
