- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Green food coloring
- Red and gold star sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 225°F (110°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk the egg whites in a large bowl until frothy.
- Add the cream of tartar and keep whisking until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add the sugar, a spoonful at a time, while continuing to beat until stiff peaks form and the mixture is glossy.
- Mix in the vanilla extract and a few drops of green food coloring until well combined.
- Transfer the meringue into a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
- Pipe tree shapes onto the prepared baking sheets, making them as tall or short as you like.
- Sprinkle with red and gold star sprinkles for a festive touch.
- Bake for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until the meringues are completely dry and can be easily lifted off the parchment paper.
- Turn off the oven and let the meringues cool inside for an hour.
