Strawberry Puree : Everything You Need to Know for Perfect Recipes

Β

This homemade strawberry puree is the perfect addition to smoothies, desserts, drinks, or as a topping for pancakes, waffles, and more. Made with fresh strawberries, it’s simple, naturally sweet, and can be customized to suit your taste!

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: About 1Β½ cups (or 12 oz) 1x

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled
1–2 tablespoons sugar (optional, depending on sweetness preference)
1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, for added tang)

Instructions

Β

  1. Wash the strawberries thoroughly and remove the hulls (green tops).
  2. Place the strawberries in a blender or food processor.
  3. Add sugar and lemon juice if using.
  4. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed by adding more sugar.
  6. Pour the puree into a container, and refrigerate if not using immediately. It can also be frozen for long-term storage.

Notes

For a smoother puree, strain it through a fine mesh sieve to remove any seeds.

You can freeze the puree in ice cube trays for easy portioning and later use.
