  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

3 cups fresh strawberries (sliced) or 2 Β½ cups frozen strawberries (thawed and drained)
1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup milk
Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Spread the sliced fresh strawberries evenly in the bottom of the baking dish. If using frozen strawberries, ensure they are thawed and drained well to avoid excess moisture.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth and creamy.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the strawberries.
  5. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly on top of the cream cheese mixture. Do not stir.
  6. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top of the cake mix.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the cake is bubbly.
  8. Let the cake cool slightly before serving.
  9. Optional: Dust with powdered sugar and garnish with extra fresh strawberries for an added touch.

Notes

You can substitute the strawberries with other berries, such as blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries, for a different flavor twist.
