Ingredients
3 cups fresh strawberries (sliced) or 2 Β½ cups frozen strawberries (thawed and drained)
1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup milk
Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- Spread the sliced fresh strawberries evenly in the bottom of the baking dish. If using frozen strawberries, ensure they are thawed and drained well to avoid excess moisture.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth and creamy.
- Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the strawberries.
- Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly on top of the cream cheese mixture. Do not stir.
- Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top of the cake mix.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the cake is bubbly.
- Let the cake cool slightly before serving.
- Optional: Dust with powdered sugar and garnish with extra fresh strawberries for an added touch.
Notes
You can substitute the strawberries with other berries, such as blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries, for a different flavor twist.
