- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
- 2 ½ cups + 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 2/3 cup strawberry preserves
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 ½-2 tbsp whole milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- Rainbow sprinkles (for decorating)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
- Cream together the butter and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, sea salt, and baking soda.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Spread half of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, creating an even layer.
- Spread the strawberry preserves over the dough, leaving a little space around the edges.
- Top with the remaining dough, gently spreading it over the preserves.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool completely, then mix together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for icing.
- Drizzle the icing over the cooled bars and add rainbow sprinkles for a festive touch.

Ensure butter is at room temperature for easy mixing. Let bars cool completely before icing to prevent melting.
