- 2 slices bread, any kind you like
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 2 slices cheese, mozzarella or cheddar
- 2 tablespoons pizza sauce, room temperature
- Toppings: pepperoni slices, bell peppers (sliced), olives (sliced), or your favorite pizza toppings
Instructions
- Butter one side of each slice of bread evenly.
- Spread the unbuttered side of one bread slice with pizza sauce.
- Layer cheese over the sauce.
- Add your chosen toppings on top of the cheese.
- Place the other bread slice on top, buttered side out.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat until hot.
- Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
- Flip the sandwich and cook another 2–3 minutes until the cheese melts and the bread is golden.
- Remove from skillet, let rest for 1 minute, slice, and serve.
Notes
Use thinly sliced toppings for quick heating. Use room-temperature sauce to avoid soggy bread.
