Pizza Grilled Cheese

Ingredients

  • 2 slices bread, any kind you like
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2 slices cheese, mozzarella or cheddar
  • 2 tablespoons pizza sauce, room temperature
  • Toppings: pepperoni slices, bell peppers (sliced), olives (sliced), or your favorite pizza toppings

Instructions

  1. Butter one side of each slice of bread evenly.
  2. Spread the unbuttered side of one bread slice with pizza sauce.
  3. Layer cheese over the sauce.
  4. Add your chosen toppings on top of the cheese.
  5. Place the other bread slice on top, buttered side out.
  6. Heat a skillet over medium heat until hot.
  7. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
  8. Flip the sandwich and cook another 2–3 minutes until the cheese melts and the bread is golden.
  9. Remove from skillet, let rest for 1 minute, slice, and serve.

Notes

Use thinly sliced toppings for quick heating. Use room-temperature sauce to avoid soggy bread.
