Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf

A delicious fusion of classic meatloaf and Philly cheesesteak, filled with juicy beef, provolone cheese, sautéed peppers, and onions.

  • Total Time: 65 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 slices provolone cheese (4 for filling, 4 for topping)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the diced peppers and onions for about 5 minutes until softened. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix ground beef with breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until combined.
  4. Press half of the meat mixture into the bottom of a loaf pan.
  5. Layer 4 slices of provolone cheese over the meat, then add the sautéed peppers and onions.
  6. Top with the remaining meat mixture, pressing down to seal the edges.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes. Add the remaining 4 slices of provolone on top in the last 5 minutes and bake until melted.
  8. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers by letting the meatloaf cool completely, then wrap tightly or store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
