- 6 croissants, torn into pieces
- 8 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar or Swiss)
- 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon or sausage (optional)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Tear the croissants into small pieces and place them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissant pieces in the baking dish.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese and, if desired, cooked bacon or sausage over the top.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) the following morning.
- Bake the casserole for about 30-35 minutes or until it’s puffed up and the center feels set.
- Let it cool slightly before slicing into portions and serving warm.
Notes
Use day-old croissants for the best texture. Adjust toppings to your taste with veggies or different cheeses.
