Million Dollar Spaghetti

A creamy, cheesy comfort food dish that combines ground beef and marinara layered with ricotta, cottage cheese, and mozzarella, perfect for family dinners or potlucks.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil the spaghetti in salted water until al dente, drain, and set aside.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks.
  3. Add the chopped onion and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; simmer 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. In a bowl, mix the ricotta, cottage cheese, and half the Parmesan until smooth.
  7. Toss the cooked spaghetti with half the meat sauce and spread into a 9×13 baking dish.
  8. Dollop or spread the ricotta-cottage mixture over the pasta evenly.
  9. Spoon the remaining meat sauce over the cheese layer, then sprinkle with mozzarella and the remaining Parmesan.
  10. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  11. Let rest 5 minutes, garnish with fresh parsley, then serve.

Notes

For a lighter swap or veggie boost, try using gluten-free noodles and substituting ground beef with lentils or crumbled tempeh.
