- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract and ground cinnamon.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined. If using, fold in the chopped nuts.
- Scoop tablespoons of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
Notes
Don’t overmix the dough to keep your cookies soft and chewy. Use fresh spices for the best flavor.
