Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (plus extra for drizzling)
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary (chopped)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- Coarse sea salt (for topping)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, active dry yeast, salt, and sugar.
- Gradually stir in the warm water and olive oil until a sticky dough forms.
- Fold in the chopped rosemary and minced garlic into the dough.
- Lightly flour a clean surface, then knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and allow it to rise in a warm place for about 15-20 minutes.
- While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently, then divide it into muffin-sized portions. Shape each portion into a muffin and place them in a greased muffin tin.
- Drizzle a little olive oil on top of each muffin and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
- Place the muffins in the oven and bake for 15-18 minutes or until they are golden brown.
- Allow the muffins to cool slightly before serving warm.
Notes
Don’t rush the rising time; it’s crucial for fluffy muffins. Adjust garlic and rosemary to taste. For an added touch, sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese on top before baking.
