Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
- Add the marshmallows to the melted butter, stirring until completely melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and slowly stir in the crispy rice cereal until well coated.
- Spread the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, pressing down firmly to create an even layer.
- Top with festive sprinkles and colored sugar while the mixture is still warm.
- Let cool for about 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
Notes
Use fresh marshmallows for the best chewy texture. Grease your hands lightly with butter when pressing the mixture into the pan to prevent sticking. Experiment with flavor by adding a dash of vanilla extract to the melted marshmallows for an extra kick.
