Chocolate Chip Madeleines

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • Optional: Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a madeleine pan.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the melted butter and vanilla, and mix well.
  4. Gradually fold in the flour mixture until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Spoon the batter into the madeleine pan, filling each mold about 3/4 full.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the edges are golden and the centers spring back when lightly touched.
  8. Allow the madeleines to cool slightly before removing from the pan. Dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.

Notes

For fluffier results, chill the batter for 10 minutes before baking.
