  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash the cooked chickpeas in a large bowl until smooth but still a bit chunky.
  3. Stir in the chopped onion and minced garlic until evenly combined.
  4. Add oats, breadcrumbs, ketchup, maple syrup, soy sauce, thyme, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until a dough forms.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a loaf pan, pressing it down firmly.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden and firm.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Don’t skip the cooling time: This helps the loaf firm up for easier slicing. Experiment with spices or add walnuts for extra flavor.
