Cherry Hand Pies

Delightful cherry hand pies that are quick and easy to make, perfect for a sweet treat any time.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Sugar (for sprinkling)
  • Flour (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Dust your surface with flour to prevent sticking and roll out the pie crusts, if needed.
  3. Cut circles from the pie crust using a large cookie cutter or the rim of a glass (about 4-5 inches in diameter).
  4. Spoon a small amount of cherry pie filling onto one half of each circle, leaving some space around the edges.
  5. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape, then press the edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges for an extra decorative touch.
  6. Brush the tops of the pies with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar for a touch of sweetness.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Use cold pie crusts for the flakiest texture. Don’t overfill the pies to avoid bursting during baking. Experiment with various fillings for more variety.
