  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon chai spice mix
  • 1 package cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar for caramel sauce
  • 1/4 cup butter for caramel sauce
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream for caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk until lukewarm, then stir in yeast and sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, salt, and melted butter. Add the yeast mixture and mix until a dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread melted butter, and sprinkle with brown sugar, chai spice mix, and cinnamon. Roll tightly and cut into 12 rolls.
  6. For the caramel sauce, melt butter in a saucepan, add brown sugar and heavy cream, and whisk until smooth. Pour into a greased baking dish, placing the rolls on top.
  7. Bake for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. For frosting, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
