Ingredients
Scale
- 4 chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups milk (or half-and-half for extra creaminess)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for sauce)
- Salt and pepper to taste (for sauce)
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare the breading by mixing breadcrumbs, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish.
- Beat the eggs in another bowl.
- Dip each chicken breast into the eggs, coating well, then dredge in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring they are thoroughly coated.
- Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, then slowly add milk (or half-and-half), whisking continuously until the sauce thickens.
- Stir in 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, adding salt and pepper to taste, then remove from heat.
- Serve the chicken drizzled with the creamy garlic sauce and garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
Don’t rush the browning process; it adds extra flavor and texture to your chicken. Use fresh garlic for a stronger flavor in the sauce.
