- 1 small head green cabbage, finely shredded
- 1 small head purple cabbage, finely shredded
- 2 large carrots, peeled and grated
- 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: 1 tablespoon hot sauce or chili flakes for heat
Instructions
- Prepare the cabbages by finely shredding the green and purple cabbage in a large bowl.
- Grate the carrots and add them to the bowl along with the sliced red onion.
- In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, sugar, salt, and pepper. If you like a little heat, stir in the optional hot sauce or chili flakes.
- Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss well to ensure everything is evenly coated.
- Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more salt, pepper, or hot sauce if needed.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld together.
