Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup non-dairy milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 cups peeled and diced apples
- Oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the non-dairy milk, sugar, and apple cider vinegar until well blended.
- Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Gently fold in the diced apples until they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- In a heavy pan, heat oil over medium heat until hot enough for frying.
- Drop batter into the hot oil, forming fritters. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- Remove the fritters from the oil and drain them on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
Fry a few fritters at a time to maintain oil temperature. Use fresh apples for better flavor and moisture.
